Maddon Ejected After Hendricks' No-Hit Bid Falls Short

Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks lost his no-hitter in the ninth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals, but that was just the beginning of the fireworks at Busch Stadium as Joe Maddon was ejected.

Maddon was tossed from the game by umpire Joe West after motioning for his infield to conference with Hendricks. West prevented Miguel Montero from visiting the mound, and Maddon took exception as he got into a heated argument with the veteran umpire.

Hendricks was removed from the game after allowing a home run to break up the no-hitter, but Aroldis Chapman finished off the game as the Cubs won 4-1. The victory drops the Cubs' magic number to three and gives them a 17 game lead over the Cardinals in the Central Division.
