Reward Money for Elgin Woman's Killer Grows

Body of Lisa E. Koziol-Ellis was found earlier this month in the suburban townhome she shared with her husband

The pool of reward money being collected for whoever provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of an Elgin's woman's killer topped $14,000 on Tuesday evening.

The body of Lisa E. Koziol-Ellis was found earlier this month in the suburban townhome she shared with her husband.

"She was the most amazing person I ever met," Dash Ellis said through tears Tuesday as he pleaded for information. "She was kind and generous and loving."

Friends of Koziol-Ellis, an artist and jewelry-maker, created the website FightForFoxy.com to share information and raise the reward money.

The Kane County Coroner said Koziol-Ellis had been stabbed multiple times, and detectives don't know who did it.

"Every lead that comes in gives us restored hope that we are in the right direction and we're going to bring this murderer to justice," said Elgin police Lt. Sean Rafferty.

Koziol-Ellis' slaying was the year's first in Elgin. The city had two homicides in 2012 and five in 2011.
