Stiffed Soccer Fans to Receive Refunds

Ticket holders didn't get to meet soccer star Lionel Messi

More than 75 VIP soccer fans who didn't get what they paid for at a Lionel Messi charity event over the weekend are getting their money back.

The group paid $2,500 a ticket to watch an all-star soccer game at Soldier Field featuring the popular player, and to attend a meet-and-great with Messi before the game.

Crain's Chicago reports Numero 5 Producciones LLC is in the process of contacting the ticket holders for refunds.

The fans, many of them children, also didn't receive promised signed jerseys and were upset that most of the advertised all-star players did not show up.

Around 27,000 fans attended the game.
