Former Cub Starlin Castro Already Setting Records For Yankees

The New York Yankees are one of the most successful teams in MLB history, but it only took former Chicago Cubs standout Starlin Castro three games to set a new team record

Starlin Castro spent the first six seasons of his baseball career with the Chicago Cubs, but after being traded from the team this offseason, he is already setting records at his new home in the Big Apple.

Castro, who was sent to the New York Yankees during the offseason, has already racked up eight runs batted in through his first three games with the team, making him the first player to ever accomplish that feat in the long and storied history of the franchise.

After racking up five RBI in the Yankees’ 16-6 victory over the Houston Astros on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium, Castro picked up right where he left off on Thursday. He drilled a solo home run in the game for the Yankees, who picked up their second straight victory in an 8-5 triumph.

Castro has already racked up four extra-base hits in three games with the Yankees to go along with those eight RBI, and he has seven hits total for the team as they are looking to get out to a quick start in the competitive American League East.

Fortunately for the Cubs, it seems as though the trade is working out for them too. They’ve already scored 15 runs in their first two games, and Ben Zobrist (whom the Cubs dealt Castro to make room for), has gone 4-for-9 with a run scored in the pair of victories over the Los Angeles Angels.
