Man Jumps Into Chicago Marathon To Evade Police

A man tried to use the Chicago Marathon on Sunday as cover to get away from authorities, police said.

Bryan Duffy, 29, was charged with resisting arrest and reckless conduct for endangering marathon runners after police said he ran into racers' paths trying to escape officers.

Police reportedly pursued Duffy to talk to him after they saw him digging in flower pots on State Street. Officers tackled Duffy in the 200 block of West Superior Street and found drugs on him, police said.

A judge set bail at $10,000 for Duffy.

More than 40,000 people ran Sunday's marathon through Chicago.
