Man Fatally Shot in Attempted Robbery of Chinese Restaurant

A male employee was fatally shot in Chicago Friday evening during an attempted robbery of a Chinese food restaurant on the city's West Side, police said.

Chang Z. Qui, 41, was shot in the back by a gunman demanding money at See Thru Chinese Kitchen, 5249 W. Madison St., at about 7:10 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Qui, of the 3200 block of West Wallace, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:02 p.m., authorities said.

The attacker ran away after the shooting, police said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
