A construction worker was killed Tuesday morning at a CHA development when the front-end loader he was in fell seven stories.

A construction worker who was critically injured after his front-end loader plummeted seven stories has died.

Carlos Mayroja, of the 6400 block of South Hamlin Avenue, was aboard the Bobcat while it was hoisted up seven floors by a crane in the 2400 block of South State Street. Mayroja was pinned in the machine and had to be cut out.

Mayorja, a man in his late 30s, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead just after 10 a.m.
