Police Investigate Attempted Sex Assault in Wrigleyville

Chicago Police are investigating an attempted sexual assault overnight in the Wrigleyville neighborhood.

Police News Affairs said the incident occurred early Thursday in the 800 block of West Waveland Avenue. A woman was entering her apartment building when she was approached by the offender.

The man knocked the woman down and tried pulling her down the stairs, police said. The woman screamed, and neighbors heard the commotion.

The offender fled the scene, police said, and no one is in custody.
