Two Injured When Man Drives Car Into Pride Parade

Two people were injured at the Chicago Pride Parade Sunday when a 60-year-old man drove his car into the parade route on the North Side.

Police said the crash happened just before 3 p.m. in the 3700 block of North Halsted in the Lake View neighborhood.

A man and a woman were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center with minor injuries. As of Monday, they had both been treated and released, according to authorities.

The 60-year-old man was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital for evaluation and was released without charges, officials said. It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. 

An estimated 1 million people attended the parade Sunday, police said.
