Bloomingdale Boy Dies in ATV Crash

An ATV accident killed an 11-year-old boy in Bartlett Thursday night

An 11-year-old Bloomingdale boy died in an ATV accident in northwest suburban Bartlett Thursday night.

Samuel Sloan, of the 100 block of South Circle Avenue, was taken to Central DuPage Hospital after the accident and was later airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he was pronounced dead at 9:10p.m., a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office told the Chicago Tribune.

Whether the boy was driving the ATV or was struck by one is unclear. Chicago Tribune reports that Sloan was struck by a relative driving the ATV, while the Chicago Sun-Times reports that he was driving when the ATV rolled over.

Bartlett Police were not available to comment Friday morning.
