One man died and three people were seriously injured after an SUV hit two vehicles and a tree in the North Side Bucktown neighborhood early Sunday, police said.
The 40-year-old man was driving a gray Chevy Tahoe westbound in the 1600 block of West Webster when the SUV sideswiped another vehicle at 3:30 a.m., police said, citing preliminary information. The man drove two blocks west, where the Tahoe hit a parked vehicle and a tree, police said.
The man was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Two passengers from the Tahoe were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The third passenger was taken to Stroger Hospital, a fire official said. All three are listed in serious condition, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death Sunday morning.
