1 Dead, 13 Injured in Chicago Shootings

All the shootings took place overnight Monday into Tuesday, police said

A 17-year-old boy was killed and at least 13 others were wounded in shootings since Monday night.

Chicago Police said Alixi Johnson was standing with a man and two women in a park in the 2100 block of East 96th Street late last night when two people started firing.

A shotgun and a rifle were used in the shooting, police said. Johnson died after being shot in the neck. The other three people were also shot and are recovering at local hospitals.

Police said at least 10 others were wounded. The most recent shooting happened around 4 a.m. Tuesday when a 28-year-old woman sitting in a car in the 7000 block of South Wentworth Avenue was shot in the back. Most of the victims are in good condition at city hospitals.

No one is in custody for the shootings.
