McDonalds

Take a ride on the McDonald’s express this morning.

During morning rush hour today the Oak Brook-based burger purveyor will takes its “Try Free, Ride Free” campaign on Chicago commuters.

The fast food joint will hand out 5,000 pre-paid transit fare cards (good for CTA, Metra and South Shore commuters) along with 5,000-plus coupons for a free Angus Burger -- because nothing says good morning like a 1/3 pound of beef.

"Whether it's with a free Angus Third Pounder or a free ride to work or play, McDonald's is thrilled to help brighten the days of our local customers," Ron Lofton, president, McDonald's Owners of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana said in a press release

"With the "Try Free, Ride Free" program, we hope we can make the morning commute just a little less painful, and throw in a free lunch too."

McDonalds has plied other cities with its burger coupons. Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Denver and Washington D.C. have enjoyed or will enjoy the promotion this September.

New York won’t get the coupons because they acted as the test market for the Angus Burger.
