Swayze Gripes From Grave About Grey

In memoir, says "Dirty Dancing" co-star was a pain in the neck

There were more than a few times during the filming of "Dirty Dancing" when Patrick Swayze felt like putting co-star Jennifer Grey in a corner, according to the late actor's autobiography.

The two may have had legendary screen chemistry, but behind the scenes, Grey was a huge pain in the butt, Swayze wrote in "The Time of My Life," due out Tuesday.

"We did have a few moments of friction when we were tired or after a long day of shooting. [Grey] seemed particularly emotional, sometimes bursting into tears if someone criticized her," Swayze wrote in the memoir. "Other times, she slipped into silly moods, forcing us to do scenes over and over again when she'd start laughing."

Grey's mood swings proved to be too much for Swayze. "I was on overdrive for the whole shoot - staying up all night to do rewrites, squeezing in dance rehearsals, shooting various scenes - and was exhausted a lot of the time," he recalls in the book. "I didn't have a whole lot of patience for doing multiple retakes."

Still, Swayze said his co-star did a "truly phenomenal job" and that "in many ways, she made the movie."
