Court documents released Tuesday showed that his mother, his brother, Randy, and sister, Janet, were involved in the planning and mindful of the huge amount of media attention that would be lavished on the Sept. 3 funeral.
Lawyers for Jackson's mother applied to the estate's administrators and were granted $1 million to pay for costs that included burial, flowers, cars, security and a post-funeral dinner.
The private ceremony for the King of Pop was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif. weeks after a public tribute to the singer at Staples Center.
