Jimmy Butler Takes Part in Blackhawks ‘Shoot the Puck' Challenge

The Bulls shooting guard was on hand Thursday night when the Chicago Blackhawks faced off against the St. Louis Blues at the United Center

Jimmy Butler is a huge Chicago Blackhawks and Jonathan Toews fan. The Bulls guard has taken in a number of Blackhawks games at the United Center since arriving in Chicago and he’s remarked that he enjoys watching other professionals work at their profession.

In an interview with Chicago RedEye in March, Butler was asked if he would ever step on the ice and take a shot.

"I would never try and take a shot on the ice because I'd automatically feel like I wasn't athletic," Butler said. "It's like if you asked one of the Blackhawks to shoot a 3-pointer, I don't think they could do it."

Well, maybe ‘Jimmy Buckets’ can invite Mr. Toews out to a Bulls game one day to try and shoot that three-pointer, but on Thursday night, Butler’s aversion to stepping on the ice went away as he participated in the ‘Shoot the Puck’ challenge.

It was great to see how engaged he was and he actually did make a shot, we just won’t tell you how many tries it took him. You’ll have to check out the video courtesy of CSN Chicago for that.
