A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of Northeast Illinois and parts of Northwest Indiana with snow in the forecast.

DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, and Kankakee Counties are all under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at noon on Friday and ending at midnight on Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Lake, Porter, Newton, and Jasper Counties in Indiana are also part of the advisory.

According to forecasts, three-to-five inches of snow are expected in areas south of Interstate 80. That includes parts of Will, Grundy, LaSalle, and Kankakee Counties in Illinois, and Newton and Jasper Counties in Indiana.

North of Interstate 80, residents can expect 2 to 4 inches of snow, with higher accumulations possible in some spots.

The NWS warns that snowy conditions could cause travel difficulties, and says that motorists should be careful while driving in the affected areas.
