Storms continued to roll over northern Illinois and the Chicago area after a Tornado Warning was briefly issued--and then canceled--in LaSalle County Wednesday night.

The warning expired at 8:30 p.m. and rain storms returned after 9 p.m. They are expected to continue overnight through much of the morning commute Thursday.

Severe conditions are possible in areas south and southwest of Chicago, which are under a marginal risk.

Hail, high winds, heavy rain and lightning are all possible.

Temperatures will vary drastically across the Chicago area Wednesday.

Areas far south of Chicago could reach near 80 degrees while far northern counties will see highs barely reaching the low-50s. The large spread in temps is expected to continue Thursday before a cold front returns Thursday evening.

Friday looks to be sunny and dry, but cooler with highs in the mid- to upper-50s.
