Thousands of Area Homes Without Power During Winter Snowstorm

Tens of thousands of ComEd customers in the Chicago-area were without power Monday morning as a strong winter storm moved through the area.

More than 85,000 people were without power in Cook County, according to ComEd's outage map, with that number continuously climbing since the snow began to fall Sunday evening. 

Over 26,000 more are without power in DuPage County, and over 11,800 residents in Kane County are in the dark as the powerful storm continues to work its way through the area. 

The number of outages as of 6 a.m. were as follows:

Cook: 85,690

DeKalb: 2,009

DuPage: 26,831

Kane: 11,858

Kendall: 3,696

LaSalle: 3,096

Lake: 19,934

McHenry: 764

Will: 11,419
