There's no spring in sight for Chicago - at least not this week.
Thursday may bring another round of mixed snow and freezing rain as temperatures continue to sit well below seasonal averages.
Temperatures are expected to drop overnight to the upper-20s and climb back up to the upper-30s to lower-40s throughout Thursday, setting the stage for what could be one of the coldest Opening Day games in the history of Guaranteed Rate Field.
A rain and snow mix is possible late-morning through evening hours, with winds of up to 15 mph. The precipitation could dampen the White Sox home opener, set to begin at 3:10 p.m.
The precipitation will likely subside by Friday but temperatures will drop even more, with highs in the upper-30s and lows in the lower-20s.
The weekend warms back into the 40s, but a chance for a rain-snow mix returns Sunday evening.
Snow chances continue through Monday as the Cubs prepare for their home opener. Temperatures may get up to the mid-40s.
