The storms likely will fade and then end by late evening in northwest Indiana.

High temperatures will reach the 80s, feeling hotter because of the high humidity. Lows dip Monday night between 65 degrees well inland and 73 degrees in Chicago.

The threat of scattered showers and storms returns late Tuesday morning, with a few storms possibly strong to severe in the afternoon and evening, especially in southern sections and northwest Indiana.

Wednesday looks partly sunny and seasonably warm, though still somewhat humid with highs in the low- to mid-80s inland but cooler along the lakefront.

A few showers and storms are possible Thursday night and early Friday as highs persist in the low 80s.
