Be sure to check the Chicago weather forecast before tonight's Fourth of July fireworks. Scattered storms in the afternoon and evening could produce heavy rain, damaging winds and possible lightning, impacting some fireworks displays.

Storms are possible in 30 to 40 percent of the Chicago area. While an isolated storm is possible throughout the day, the best chance is after 3 p.m. or 4 p.m.

Any storms end early, giving way to a partly cloudy, hazy, warm and humid night with temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s overnight.
