The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch through Monday morning for several counties, including Cook, DuPage, Will, Kankakee, Kane, LaSalle, Kendall and Grundy in Illinois, as well as Lake, Porter, Newton and Jasper counties in Indiana.

With the storms comes the potential for severe weather, with the highest risk south of I-80.

Heavy rain and flooding are expected, with a chance for damaging winds or even hail, and while the threat is low, the possibility of tornadoes can’t be ruled out.

Temperatures will hover in the low to mid 50s inland, but drop to the 40s by the lakefront.

By Sunday morning, parts of the Chicago area had already seen upwards of four inches of rainfall.

Though most of the storms will move out overnight, Monday will remain overcast and cool with a chance of an isolated shower. Tuesday will see some sun, while the rest of the week looks cloudy as temperatures warm to reach the 60s by the weekend.
