After a wild night of weather, the Chicago area woke up to more rain Thursday.
Storms rolled over northern Illinois the night before, some of which resulted in a brief Tornado Warning for LaSalle County. The warning expired at 8:30 p.m. and rain storms returned after 9 p.m.
The storms were expected to continue through the morning commute Thursday, with severe conditions possible in areas south and southwest of Chicago, which are under a marginal risk.
Once the rain moves out by late morning, the trend of greatly varying temperatures - a spread of 50s to 80s across the region on Wednesday - was expected to continue Thursday before a cold front returns in the evening.
Friday looks to be sunny and dry, but cooler with highs in the mid- to upper-50s.
