The forecast for the holiday follows the predictions for every day this week, including the long holiday weekend.

One thing remains certain – things are going to be hot across the area.

Highs Tuesday are expected to rise into the low- to mid-90s with heat index readings reaching near 100 degrees.

The remainder of the week will likely see highs in the mid- to upper-80s.
