Chicago Area to See More Showers and Storms This Week

The Chicago area is set to see yet another round of showers and storms, potentially severe, on Monday and several days throughout the week.

The work week began with mostly cloudy skies, with the wind picking up and conditions feeling warm and humid with afternoon highs between 75 and 80 degrees.

Showers developed in some suburban areas late morning, with an isolated thunderstorm possible.

Scattered thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and early evening, with a few possibly strong to severe, bringing large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain.

Any showers and storms will end early for partly cloudy, breezy and mild but humid conditions overnight.

Tuesday looks to be partly to mostly sunny, breezy and warm with highs in the low to mid 80s. A few isolated storms will be possible in the evening or at night.

The chance for showers continues through early morning Wednesday, otherwise the day looks to be partly to mostly sunny and warms with highs in the mid 80s.

Thursday brings more partly sunny skies and looks to be warmer and more humid with highs in the mid to upper 80s. A few isolated storms could be possible in the evening.

The weekend starts partly sunny, warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s on Friday, though isolated storms are once again possible.

The chance for thunderstorms continues on Saturday, as does the warmth with highs in the 80s inland, but cooler along the lakefront.

Sunday looks to be partly sunny and seasonably warm again for a smooth end to the summer weekend.
