Strong Storms Leave Damage, Flooding Behind

Flooding reported in Kankakee

Saturday night's storms, heavy rain, hail and high winds did some damage in the suburbs and in northwest Indiana.

Some areas around Bourbonnais and Kankakee received 4 to 7 inches of rain, and there are several reports of flooding.

The thunderstorm packed a punch in Northbrook. There are reports of hail, heavy winds and even some downed trees.

Powerful wind gusts ripped branches from trees in northwest suburban Rolling Meadows.

There are also reports of lightning starting a fire in a building at Peck and Keslinger roads in west suburban Geneva.
