More storms are possible across the Chicago area Tuesday, bringing the threat of heavy rain, damaging winds and hail.

What began as a partly sunny, warm and humid day will likely transition to showers and storms by the early afternoon and evening, covering anywhere from 30 to 50 percent of the area.

A few storms have the potential to become strong to severe, particularly ones that develop in southern portions of the metro area and in northwest Indiana.

Any storms that do develop will likely fade through the evening hours, making way for a hazy and humid night.

Temperature highs will sit in the upper-70s and low-80s, but will likely be cooler along the lakefront.

Most locations will stay dry Wednesday, though some isolated showers and storms will be possible in southern locations during the late-morning and afternoon hours.

Highs are forecast to sit in the low- to mid-80s, where they will likely stay through the weekend.

By Thursday and Friday, the chance for isolated to scattered showers and storms returns, but most areas will stay dry.
