Chicago Defrosts After Frigid Winter Temperatures

The warmth follows a stretch of brutally cold temperatures the Windy City hasn't experienced since 1936

Chicago is finally warming up after weeks of frigid daytime temperatures, and the city could see an unexpected high this week.

Temperatures reached into the mid-30s Monday, although they will likely drop to the low- and mid-20s overnight.

The warming trend will continue Tuesday as highs stay in the 30s before climbing to the upper-40s and possibly, even low-50s by Thursday.

The warmth follows a stretch of brutally cold temperatures the Windy City hasn't experienced since 1936.

It is possible that a dense fog will develop midweek and localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.
