Chicago Weather: Bitter Temps, Possible Snow in Store for Chicago Area

As bitter temps move in, the Chicago area could see another round of snow this weekend

Bitter temperatures returned to the Chicago area Friday as the weekend threatens to usher in more cold weather and possibly even snow.

A Wind Chill Advisory remained in effect for some counties until 10 a.m. after a morning that saw wind chill readings between -8 and -18 degrees.

Temps are expected to rise between 10 and 16 degrees by the afternoon hours, though wind chill readings will remain below zero.

Saturday looks to start off sunny and bitter cold, but temps are expected to reach into the low- to mid-20s by the afternoon.

On Sunday, light snow is expected to develop in the morning and continue through the evening, with up to 2 inches of snow possible by the system’s end. Highs Sunday are set to rise into the upper-20s and low-30s, where they will stay for the start of the work week.

Next week could bring another mixed bag of weather to the Chicago area with the threat of freezing rain, rain and snow.
