High Winds Prompt Wind Ban Across Indiana Toll Road

Indiana Toll Road officials have placed a wind ban on several vehicles due to predicted high winds

Predicted high winds have prompted a wind ban for certain vehicles along the Indiana Toll Road.

Triple tractor-trailers, long doubles (high-profile only), and high-profile oversize permit loads cannot be driven along the entire roadway which stretches more than 156 miles, according to a Facebook post by Indiana Toll Road officials.

All other vehicles are permitted to drive on the road, according to the post.

The ban will go into effect at midnight Eastern Time and remain in effect until 7 p.m. Eastern Time Thursday.

Forecasters said 63 million residents located in the central U.S. will be hit by bad weather as colliding air masses will produce high winds and possibly tornadoes.
