Track Condition Forces ‘Severe Delays' on CTA Blue Line

The CTA urged commuters to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including nearby bus routes or a bus to other rail lines.

"Severe delays" were reported Friday morning on the Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line, according to the CTA.

A "track condition" near Jefferson Park forced trains in both directions to share the same track between Harlem and Montrose stations, the CTA said.

The CTA urged commuters to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including nearby bus routes or a bus to other rail lines.

Crews were working to restore normal service.
