Troopers were taken by tractor to the scene, where they found Kingston. He was the only person aboard. Emergency workers extricated him from the 1990 single-engine Raytheon aircraft. It had skidded across a harvested corn field into an area of cut trees.

Kingston was taken to a Muncie hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The FAA was investigating.
