A woman and her toddler were uninjured Thursday after she inadvertently drove her car into the side of a west suburban home.
The driver said she put her foot on the gas instead of the brake, launching the car into a home on the 740 block of South Grove Avenue in Oak Park.
The homeowner was understanding with the driver, explaining that a home across the street had been hit in a similar manner in the past.
Neighbors expressed relief that the crash happened during the school day and not at a time when neighborhood children were walking to and from school.
The driver was issued a citation for speeding.
