Metra Train Collides With Vehicle in Itasca

As of 7:10 a.m., all inbound and outbound trains were halted in the area

A vehicle was struck by an inbound Metra train Tuesday morning on the Milwaukee District / West Line in northwest suburban Itasca.

Inbound train No. 2212, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 7:53 a.m., struck a vehicle about 7 a.m. at Walnut Street in Itasca, said Metra spokesman Tom Miller.

It was not immediately known whether anyone was injured in the crash.

As of 7:10 a.m., all inbound and outbound trains were halted in the area, according to Metra. Updated transit information is posted to MetraRail.com.
