At least one victim in serious condition

More than one dozen ambulances have been called to the scene of a traffic incident involving a CTA bus on the Near West Side.

The Tribune is reporting 20 injured, including the driver of one of the cars involved.

A bus and two vehicles collided at the corner of West Roosevelt Road and South Blue Island Avenue on the Near West Side. An EMS Plan II response was called to the scene.

According to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski, preliminary reports indicate the bus was stopped at an intersection when it was struck by a car.

Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said that at least one of the injured was taken from the scene in critical condition.

A total of 15 other people, in fair to serious condition, were taken to area hospitals, as well.
