Southwest Pilot Apologizes For Offensive Remarks

James Fritzen Taylor, the pilot whose obscenity laced rant was captured on a cockpit mic, issued an apology

An anonymous Southwest Airlines pilot whose rant about flight attendants was captured over a stuck cockpit microphone is no longer anonymous, and has apologized.

The pilot, identified as 46-year-old James Fritzen Taylor of Argyle, Texas, issued his apology in a statement, according to KPRC Channel 2 in Houston.

"Please accept my most sincere apology for the inappropriate and disrespectful remarks I made in March with an open microphone," reads Taylor's apology. "I deeply regret the derogatory remarks I made and the hurt I have caused—I take full responsibility for those comments."

In his rant, Taylor labeled his Chicago-based flight crew as a "continuous stream of gays and grannies and grandes."

"Eleven f***ing over-the-top f***ing a** f***ing homosexuals and a granny.  Eleven! I mean, think of the odds of that," the unidentified pilot said during a March flight.

In his written apology, he makes a specific apology to all flight attendants, including those in Houston who he said were "the ugliest" of all.

A photo of Taylor with the words "This is the big mouth pilot!!" scribbled on it was displayed in a Southwest Airlines crew break room, according to the station.

Taylor is married and lives with his wife and two kids, ages 18 and 20, according to The Dallas Voice.
