Road Closures In Effect For Taste of Chicago

Road closures are in effect through the weekend for the Grant Park food festival

Heading downtown for Taste of Chicago? Consider taking public transportation to the 33rd annual Grant Park foodie festival.

Road closures are in effect through the weekend and into Monday morning, spanning much of the park and potentially creating weekend backups on the Edens Expressway.

East Jackson Drive is closed from South Lake Shore Drive to South Michigan Avenue, and South Columbus Drive is closed from Roosevelt Road to East Monroe for the duration of the festival, which runs Wednesday through Sunday.

East Congress Parkway is also closed between South Michigan Avenue and South Columbus Drive.

Thirty-five restaurants are participating this year, plus four pop-up restaurants featuring rotating restaurants and 14 food trucks, which will be available before and during the evening concerts at the Petrillo Music Shell.

Music headliners include singers Robin Thicke and Jill Scott, Led Zeppelin alumnus Robert Plant, alternative rockers Neon Trees and Grammy award-winning indie pop group fun. Reserved seating for some of the concerts have already sold out, but lawn seating is free. (View Schedule)
