Thieves Rob Victims at Gunpoint Near Green Line Stations

Two robbery incidents occurred less than two blocks from CTA Green Line stations in March

Police issued a community alert Sunday after two armed robbery incidents near CTA Green Line stops.

In both incidents, the thieves robbed the victims at gunpoint on the street after they exited the transit stations.

The first robbery occurred at about 1:20 a.m. on March 24 in the 200 block of North Kedzie near the Kedzie Green Line stop. Another one occurred at about 8:30 p.m. the next day in the 200 block of North Central Park a few blocks from the Conservatory Green Line stop.

Police describe one offender as a black male, age unknown, standing 5 feet and 6 to 8 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a mask covering his face.

There were three offenders in the second incident, all described as black males.
