State Police said the driver of a white Audi likely was speeding when it rear-ended a Chevy truck. The crash happened just before 2 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Edens near Touhy Avenue in Skokie.

Debris was scattered blocks away, and the vehicles were unrecognizable.

Police said Ranginwala was driving the Chevy which veered to the right before it rolled over.

The driver of the Audi was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with minor injuries.

The expressway was shut down for hours as investigators cleaned up the scene.

Lanes were reopened at 7:30 a.m., police said.
