The Federal Aviation Administration will hold public meetings this summer on a new runway scheduled to open at O’Hare International Airport, the agency announced Wednesday.
The meetings will be held in August in communities surrounding the airport. The “workshops” will allow residents to speak with FAA officials and consultants and address noise and air pollution issues with the runway.
Four sessions are scheduled from 1-9 p.m. at the following the locations:
- Aug. 10, White Eagle Banquets, 6839 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles
- Aug. 11, Taft High School, 6530 W. Bryn Mawr Ave, Chicago
- Aug. 12, Monty’s Elegant Banquets, 703 S. York Rd, Bensenville
- Aug. 13, Belvedere Events & Banquets, 1170 W. Devon Ave, Elk Grove Village
The new runway is scheduled to open Oct. 15 on the far south airfield.
