4 Hurt In Fiery Crash on Edens Expressway

Fire crews say it's a miracle no one was killed in the crash

Four people were hurt Sunday night when a car and semi-truck collided in a fiery crash on the Edens Expressway, police said.

State Police said the truck hit a car merging into the center lane just after 9 p.m. then struck another car as it veered away and lost control. The truck landed on top of one of the vehicles, and both the truck and car burst into flames.

Fire crews say it's a miracle no one was killed in the crash. They said two of the injured were burned, but everyone is expected to recover.

"I saw a big flame, and the next thing I know, there's a mother and daughter screaming, 'We're burning, help us,'" said Dragi Urosevic, who helped two of the crash victims, "and we tried to get them over the median as fast as we could."

The Edens was shut down in both directions for about two hours.
