Wind Down on Tax Day

With wine and cheese from Provenance

Feeling a little bit keyed up on Tax Day? Refund or no refund, you might want to unwind this evening with a nice bottle of vino and some delicious eats from Provenance Food and Wine,  which has locations in Logan Square and Lincoln Square. The independently owned, neighborhood specialty shop has wines, beer, artisanal cheeses, seasonal produce and gourmet foods.  The two locations host a variety of events each month.  This month, we are looking forward to an Artisan Cheese Tasting with Daphne Zepos of Essex St. Cheese on Tuesday, April 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Logan Square location, 2528 N. California Ave., (773-384-0699). Mark Lindzy of H2Vino will be pouring wines that match perfectly with Daphne's delectable cheeses. The cost is $8 per person and is good toward anything purchased the evening of the event.

On Saturday, April 25, the Lincoln Square location, 2312 W. Leland Ave., 773-784-2314, hosts a “Kids in the Square” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Melissa Graham from Purple Asparagus demonstrates how to prepare easy cheese snacks with your kids. This event is free.
