Those of us who frequent the shopping paradise known as shopbop.com, know that a tiny boutique can turn into a gi-normous international sensation in just a few clicks. After all, the web site started as a dinky little boutique on a college campus in Madison, WI. So when we heard that one of our own boutiques was expanding into the World Wide Web, we couldn’t help but wonder, will it be the next shopping sensation?
Maybe not, but regardless, those of us city-dwellers who lust after the well-edited Gavin Boutique’s apparel and accessories, can now save some major time by not having to hike it up to the 'burbs to get our hands on the goods.
The Evanston-based store is launching an e-commerce site on Sept. 1, and it’ll carry all the lines in the store and more. You’ll find clothing and accessories from brands like Pencey, Alice + Olivia, Gryphon and Helmut Lang.
We loved when trendy Lincoln Park store She Boutique launched into an online frenzy last year as well after shutting their doors. In fact, our savings account has suffered ever since and we’re anticipating no different story with Gavin.
Ganvin's site will also offer fashion advice, style tips and the latest looks off the runway. We also hear they’ll have guest fashion experts (mag fashion editors and reality TV stars are all supposedly in the schedule).
Our fashion appetites are growing already.
