Oprah's Store Also Leaving West Loop

Store to close shortly after talk show wraps

Last call for Oprah gear.

Not only is the "Queen of Talk" ending her show and leaving Chicago, her flagship West Loop store is going kaput as well.

The Chicago Tribune reports that The Oprah Store, located across from Harpo Studios at 37 N. Carpenter Street, will close in June. A Harpo spokesman confirmed that a Water Tower Place kiosk will also be gone in May.

The 5,500 square foot store opened in 2008. It offers everything from souvenir items to luxury apparel and Oprah's Closet, a wardrobe filled with items once worn by Winfrey.

The Oprah Winfrey Show winds down at the end of May. The programs will be taped at the United Center May 17th.
