Got a song in your heart and a desire to go to the Tony Awards? Head to Macy's State Street flagship store on Thursday, May 21 for your shot at Broadway stardom.
A musical performance from the Tony Award-nominated "Legally Blonde the Musical," which is now playing at the Ford Center Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre, will take place at 12PM in Macy's first floor handbags department, followed by the talent portion of the competition. Singers can belt out their favorite show tune for the panel of judges, which will include "Legally Blonde the Musical" cast members. The singer chosen by the judges will win a trip for two to New York City (including two nights at the Marriott Courtyard Times Square in the heart of the theater district -- swoon!). The winner will also get the chance to compete in the contest finals taking place at Macy's Herald Square in the Big Apple on Friday, June 5. The grand prize winner will get to spend the weekend in New York plus two tickets to the 2009 Tony Awards taking place at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7, along with a $1,000 Macy's shopping spree. Tip: Head straight to the gown department and get ready for your close-up.
