With snow officially on the ground and the holiday season bearing down upon us, who couldn't use a little Spring right about now? The perennially hot Wicker Park restaurant has a few new tricks up its sleeve, including a prix-fixe "Everything Spring" menu offering Spring's favorite dishes from the past seven years. The four-course dinner features such crowd pleasers as tuna nicoise, lemongrass and coconut soup, scallops with braised oxtail and Thai coffee panna cotta. The dinner is priced at $45 per person and continues through the end of the year.
With Spring's super-cool (and spacious!) bar a destination in itself, the restaurant has also cooked up a tasty new bar menu. Divided into "raw," "warm" and "rolls" selections, the offerings span everything from sashimi to short ribs, with prices ranging from $3-$13 per item. Highlights include Malaspina oysters with kimchi and apple caviar ($3 each), king crab rolls with banana, miso and cashew ($13) and a squash wonton with celery and brown butter ($3).
And, finally, as a little holiday gift, diners who spend $100 at the restaurant before Dec. 31 will receive a $25 gift card to use on a future visit (or as a stocking stuffer!).
