With the economy tanking more each day, a first anniversary of a local business, especially a restaurant, is something to celebrate.
Two restaurants are celebrating their first birthdays the same week, each offering a complimentary dessert with the purchase of an entree.
Guests who dine at Near West Side Powerhouse Restaurant at 215 N. Clinton Street Monday, Nov. 17- Wednesday, Nov. 19 will receive a complimentary glass of champagne (one per person) as well as Chef Jeff Mauro's signature dessert, the succulent sweet potato doughnuts (one order per table). The doughnuts are made with brown butter, cinnamon sabayon and apples with pepitos on the side.
River North pizzeria La Madia (59 W. Grand Ave.) offers guests a complimentary signature chocolate tortino dessert with the purchase of a pizza or entree during dinner service. Limit one per table on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
