Jazz Up Your Night

Park 52 hosts live jazz every Wednesday

Hump Day doesn't have to be so blah and ordinary. There's nothing like a trip down to President Barack Obama's neighborhood for some good eats and great jazz to well, jazz up a boring Wednesday. Starting tonight, Hyde Park's Park 52 hosts live jazz every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jazz flutist Steve Flowers kicks off the series tonight and next Wednesday, March 11, followed by saxophonist/flutist/vocalist Harlan Jefferson on March 18 and 25.  Park 52's nightly four-course ''Obama Prix Fixe'' is available during these performances; get an appetizer, salad, entrée, dessert and a glass of wine for $44, in honor of our 44th president.  You can also take advantage of Wednesday being ''Neighborhood Night,'' in which guests from the University of Chicago, City of Chicago employees and area teachers receive a 15 percent discount off a bill when entrees are ordered.  Reservations are not required but highly recommended.
