Hump Day Now Known as Champagne Day

Sixteen and Rebar at the Trump Hotel feature bubbly offerings on Wednesday

Rebar, the sophisticated cocktail lounge in the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, debuted its "Champagne Table" event in March to wide acclaim. What was designed to be a bimonthly tasting quickly became a weekly affair, thanks to the insatiable demand us Chicagoans seem to have for bubbles.

And now Rebar has upped the exclusivity factor of the soiree, limiting the number of guests to 16. Trump sommelier Steven Lee will host the event every week, Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7PM, in Rebar's V.I.P. section, offering samples of the month's featured champagne house (May is Veuve Clicquot, June is Perrier-Jouet and so on) along with hors d'oeuvres. Be sure to make reservations for this intimate tasting, which is priced at $25 per person, by calling Jennifer Schwartz at 312-588-8114.

Another new facet of the champagne program at Trump is the "Champagne Table" menu now being offered 5:30-9:30PM Wednesday evenings at Sixteen, the chic dining destination at the hotel property. The three-course dinner created by executive chef Frank Brunacci will star seasonal, locally sourced ingredients paired with sparkling wines and champagnes selected by sommelier Steven Lee. The cost is $95 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 312-588-8030.
